It is the deep and intense production of a whole period that started with Anglicanism proclaimed by Henry VIII, and then challenged and reaffirmed. Elizabeth I had the last word on the subject, though the Puritans were arriving, strong and fast. One result will be the closing of theaters and it will take practically one century for the stage to regain its beauty and that will be in music, more than ever, in operatic and oratorio music. With Marlowe and Handel, and a few more bringing together the two Renaissance arts England favored: singing and theater. And that osmosis of various stage arts will flourish ever since till today and will produce some of the most important opera composers and theater playwrights of Europe and the Western World. Shakespeare is the master of it all and the only one able to compete with what is coming from the East, first of all, Russia, and now China, India, and soon Africa and Latin America.

This edition of the Sigiri Graffiti set up in a dramatic form about the fate of King Kasyapa is dedicated to those who made my encounter with them and the Asparas on the Rock face possible.

First Sujeewa who welcomed me to the Centre of Eco-cultural Studies’ base in Diyakapilla in July 2005. http://www.cessrilanka.com/

Second Sudarshani who lived at the top of a tree and always made fun of my love for elephants.

Third the monks of the Pidurangala Monastery where I had the opportunity to climb to the top of their rock and spend a full night with the reclining Buddha next to the plaque of thanks of the monks to King Kasyapa who gave them this rock in exchange for the Sigiriya Rock.

That was a good time of discovery and meditation that meant a lot of interesting cogitation and mental improvement.

I kind of found some epiphany after five years of extreme vagrancy and ten more years of primeval misunderstanding.

The Dhammapada and Pali were my healing potions and my visionary organic rational hallucinogens that had been elaborated by twenty-five centuries of absolutely sober wisdom.

No one needs soma, chrism, ayahuaska, or tobacco to go up to the sky of luminous imagination and the heaven of human wisdom.

No one can understand this sudden need to step out of this world when an older man, or person, meets with younger people. A type of love that leads to the shame of still being alive. Some may be able to explain this fascination for younger people when you get old, but to understand the real mechanism that makes one individual fall through the trap of nostalgic mesmerizing recollections of what it was so many decades ago.

Le Radeau de la COVID qui radote

I just published Le Radeau de la COVID qui radote. En Auvergne c'est la montagne et les volcans, les vaches et le maïs, le tournesol et le colza, et pas mal de moutons. Tout compté il y a un habitants pour au moins dix bêtes domestiques. Et les sauvages? On parle d'inscrire les moutons dans les écoles pour garder les classes ouvertes. Le Rectorat aurait répondu que les enseignants seraient alors rermplacés par des vaches pour parachever la féminisation du corps enseignant. Les parents protestent et exige de garder un corps enseignant au moins humanisé en même temps qu'immunisé car le COVID-19 rode toujours du côté de Rodez. Ils veulent garder les deux mamelles de l'Éducation Nationale entières et productrices, les élèves dans les classes et les enseignantes collées en post-it sur les tableaux noirs. Imaginez ce que cela donne quand ces bambins et bambines deviennent presque adultes vers 15 ans, grand max. Du gibier de supermarché et de smartphone. C'est tout dire et ne hjamais en finir avec la délinquance car ils sont des proies faciles pour les roublards interlopes qui errent dans les ruelles sde nos villes acharnées à oublier le mal pour simplement s'en donner à coeur joie sur un ballon rond - parfois ovale.

And Yet we have to say so when we hear and see Senator Ted Cruz interrupting Ketanji Brown Jackson in her answering his question and telling the chairperson of the Committee that he will not let her speak because she does not want to answer his question, in other words, she does not want to give him the answer he wants her to give. Ted Cruz is behaving like a Roman gladiator, or is it a Roman Legionnaire? And it is always the same story in the media, and particularly on social media: look at these Justices who were appointed by Trump and who vote against him. For this “popular” understanding of the Supreme Court, Justices have to ask permission from the president who appointed them before any vote of theirs. Justices should be faithful doggies, in that blind vision of the reality of justice. My saying this does not imply the court is not following the trends of public opinion. They were racist and segregationist for quite a few centuries. And for a very long time they understood, if not still do, all men are equal meaning all male individuals are equal.

The rebirth of Psycholinguistics

I just published The rebirth of Psycholinguistics. There is no hope about people understanding one another, and accepting their differences and multifarious potentials if we do not speak of communication and cognition that can only exist linguistically. And misunderstanding and bias are most frequent among people who speak languages that are too far apart or that are too close. We have been living in a dream for a long time: peace in the West and war waged mostly by the west in countries in the rest of the world. Strong bias on Muslims and Islam as the main culprits, as if the invasion of Afghanistan, the Invasion of Iraq, and the invasion of Syria - all three have failed - were not coming from the West? And then came Trump and his idea that commercial wars were easy to win. And then came Biden who desperately needs some tension in the world to cover up the US failure with the COVID-19 pandemic in the USA precisely, and to recapture two or three seats in the Senate and a dozen in the House of Representatives to be able to pass the legislation one single Democratic Senator blocks, even with a simple abstention.

Biden Can’t Eliminate China

Biden needs a war to maybe reconquer some legitimacy in his next mid-term elections. Without a war, by proxy, of course, he won't be able to get a few extra senators and a dozen or so more representatives. Putin and Zelenski, the latter in the driver’s seat even under Trump who could not stand him, offered him the best Mardi Gras present: a real war but with no American GIs on the battlefield, not even a US drone. The worst part of this scenario is that a ceasefire would be the best supporting event for Biden, but he is not able to get it, he is not even trying. He has been taken over by his fear and his angst, and he wants to destroy Russia, at least economically. But he has not even the slightest concern about what or who will still be alive in Ukraine if this deadly warfare goes on for another four weeks.

They teach between 14 hours and at times 3 or 4 hours a week. They have a cozy apartment or house in some city, and a second home for weekends and vacations in the countryside or the mountains. Luxury is part of the game. In many ways, they have nothing to do with the working class, though some might have been born in a lower-middle-class family. But they have forgotten what it used to be. Cro-Magnon’s language is an ambitious project in phylogenic linguistics. The objective is to go back to the shift from animal to human articulated language. Homo Sapiens some 300,000 years ago, found himself endowed with mutations selected by his being a long distance fast bipedal runner: a very low larynx; a complex articulating apparatus; a sophisticated coordinating system bringing together diaphragm, breathing, heartbeat, legs and general body posture. These three physiological improvements permitted new linguistic possibilities: more consonants; more vowels; a brain able to construct a mind both producing and produced by articulated language. This developed the ability to conceptualize and develop abstract thinking.

The phylogeny of language from a purely linguistic and cognitive point of view activates three articulations to generate human language: vowels and consonants; the morphology of the word from root to stem and then frond; the syntactic structures of utterances. This is based on the communicational syntax conveyed by the human communicational situation that requires the power to conceptualize, both daily procedural communication and inter/intra-generational cognitive and didactic communication.

La Censure Existe, Je l’ai Rencontrée

Il y a peu de chose à dire sur l’interdiction dont ce texte a fait l’objet dans ce collège qui n’a de libellule que son ancêtre le papillon.

Le club théâtre, animé par mes soins, comme une structure un peu refuge dans un collège avec internat pour enfant de la grande ville qui sont ainsi déportés loin de chez eux. Je n’entrerai pas dans les détails, parfois révoltant du pourquoi de cette pratique plus qu’archaïque.

La première année les élèves avaient choisi UBU comme personnage fétiche de leur quête de liberté.

L’année suivante avec les élèves volontaires j’ai fait le pari avec eux de leur écrire une pièce courte sur le collège. J’ai naturellement fait le passage du Lycée Papillon de Pagnol au Collège Libellule.

La pièce, et donc l’auteur, ont été accusés de racisme par le principal car un personnage est ouvertement raciste. Une assistante sociale zélée dont le fils était membre du club théâtre, a fait un signalement très négatif.

Le recteur a suspendu l’auteur pour enquête administrative qui s’est conclue avec une suspension d’un an. C’est comme cela qu’on écluse les gens qui font des vagues.

Yet I am reciting in my mind and in silence the Dhammapada to brush up my Pali. And when I am finished with it, I just try to visualize in my mind the meditating sandstone disk that is turning in my inner vision, self hypnotizing myself with it, till I can finally see the sky through the window.
