No the SC cannot be deaf and dumb to history.
USSC is NO Political Coliseum

NO Political Coliseum? We should not have to say so, but both the
confirmation system and the polarization of Congress leads to politicizing
every piece of legislation: voting in the Senate or the House is saying yes or
no to the boss-in-chief. https://jacquescoulardeau.medium.com/ussc-is-no-political-coliseum-b018617eb8db.
And Yet we have to say so when we hear and see Senator Ted Cruz interrupting
Ketanji Brown Jackson in her answering his question and telling the chairperson
of the Committee that he will not let her speak because she does not want to
answer his question, in other words, she does not want to give him the answer
he wants her to give. Ted Cruz is behaving like a Roman gladiator, or is it a
Roman Legionnaire? And it is always the same story in the media, and
particularly on social media: look at these Justices who were appointed by
Trump and who vote against him. For this “popular” understanding of the Supreme
Court, Justices have to ask permission from the president who appointed them
before any vote of theirs. Justices should be faithful doggies, in that blind
vision of the reality of justice. My saying this does not imply the court is
not following the trends of public opinion. They were racist and segregationist
for quite a few centuries. And for a very long time they understood, if not
still do, all men are equal meaning all male individuals are equal.
