"South To Freedom" is a crucial book to understand how the Civil War came into historical and diabolical existence. Slavery was a crime against humanity, has always been since the very first time it was invented somewhere in the world around 12,000 BCE. But it became a crime against human thought, ethics, justice, mental spirituality in the 19th century because the USA did not have the courage to abolish it directly in their Constitution and it took 80 years to get to this simple fact: slavery cannot exist. And yet, the harshest forms of racial exploitation of black people in the USA still exist, and black people are killed every day, mostly and outrageously by the police that proves to be explicitly racist in such events. Black Lives Matter more than ever and Chinese bashing in the USA shows that racialism and racism are not limited to black people. Any person who is not pure white should think twice before going down into the street. Racial hunting is open full blast in the USA right now.
