The Poldarks, A Sad Love
Story
Though
this review only concerns the first five seasons of the series, though a sixth
season is rumored here and there but not announced on IMDb yet, the
social and political, let alone historical, questions maneuvered in this series
are essential to maybe understand the world we live in when confronted to a
deflagration of the COVID-19 type. Nothing can stop the greed and the
narrow-mindedness of those who hold power in order to promote their own
privileges, be they the privileges of a profession, a social status or a
hereditary position.
Power corrupts for sure.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely for sure too.
But corrupted power corrupts down to the last roots of the social jungle.
Enjoy the acting of quite good actors, though maybe too stiffly defined or
directed.
