Xavier Rouard is a scrupulous hunter-gatherer but he remains within the forest that extends over the last 15,000 years, and thus misses the linguistic phylogeny of Homo Sapiens that lasted 300,000 years and started in Black Africa from where we all originated, except those of us who never left it. But to keep to a more recent time, what was the impact of the Neanderthals and the Denisovans on the freshly and greenhorny arriving Homo Sapiens in Europe, Eurasia and Asia? The answer cannot be found after the Peak of the Ice Age because it all happened before, at times long before like in Asia. Just looking at bodies, Astérix is a Homom Sapiens and Obélix is a Neanderthals. And both are probably married to two Denisovan ladies, strangely absent from the tale which is as unreal as the story of Rahan.

CHINA IS RECAPTURING ITSELF

 The Chinese revolution is finally coming to the front of history, not as a paper tiger’s killer or hunter, but as the descendants of the second migration of Homo Sapiens out of Black Africa something like 127,000 years ago, circa 125,000 BCE. They only found pre-Homo-Sapiens Hominins, particularly Denisovans in Asia who were in contact with Neanderthals in the Urals and around, in Siberia. The contact was long between these migrating Homo Sapiens and the Denisovans, and it even was more than plain contact. It was the full exchange of genes via reproduction, culture via crafts, hunting strategies, and lifestyles in vast areas that were very cold and at very high altitudes, though Southeast Asia, and what is today the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and Melanesia were less cold but the level of Denisovan DNA in the populations there is a lot higher than on the Asian continent and cannot compare with the share of Neanderthal DNA most other populations in the world (Black Africans who have not left Africa, have none at all, and the rest of the world except most Asia, no more than 3% and often less. Denisovan DNA in Asia goes beyond 6% in Southeast Asia.

The Inquisition Genocide in Europe

I just published The Inquisition Genocide in Europe. 3 genocides were performed by the Catholic Church in Europe in the Middle Ages. The first one was against the heretics. The second one was against Jews. The third one was against the Moors in Spain. We more or less know about the Christian Genocide in the Americas, but we ignore, meaning we do not want to speak of, the Catholic genocides in Europe that started a lot earlier and lasted a lot more, and that was, after all, nothing but the continuation of the genocides performed by the Roman Empire, and others before them. The series as such deals with the top of the social top, the cream of the effete world in and around Hollywood. These people are rich to the point of drowning in their greenbacks or drowning in the common accompaniment of these greenbacks that whisky, or should I say bourbon, is. They have cars that are as long as trains and homes that are as big as the castles of the crazy Prussian emperor Friedrich, or was it a Bavarian Duke or something like that? They live in a dream in which their own umbilical logic — which is pretty obtuse — is the law reigning over the world and is re-enforced by their propensity at calling the top politicians and making them sing the song of the death of Columbo, as if Columbo were a swan, in other words pressurizing if not blackmailing them.

The International Society for Applied Psycholinguistics in its 13th Congress in June 2024, will organize a symposium that will focus on two strongly intertwined topics: first- and foreign-language teaching, and translation in the post-pandemic world, globalizing in diversity, and within a very rapidly changing technical environment (Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, Deep Learning, Virtual Reality, and others). 90% of the world's languages do not have enough data available in the cloud to benefit from these technical advances.
