France Trapped in the Past
https://jacquescoulardeau.medium.com/france-trapped-in-the-past-d96c709362b6
For
fifty years now, France has followed the erring EU on how to teach foreign
languages and the result is frighteningly abominable. It all spins on one
person who managed to impose the notional-functional pedagogy of MAK Halliday
devised for migrant populations in extreme urgency, and he implemented it onto
school children who only have one urgency in their life: watch TV or play with
their cellphone or smartphone. They don't even try to get a detour around their
parents' blocking porno sites. They are too lazy, as Eddy Constantine would
say, and not adventurous enough to try and do this. In their daily solitude
self-imposed onto themselves by their "telephones" they live in a
dreamland in a dream landscape in a dream nowhere, EREWHON as a certain Butler
would say.
It
is high time we rethink the teaching of foreign languages in Europe for most
people if not everyone to be able to cope with their neighbors or their guests,
their European neighbors or the migrating visitors from all around the world.
Europe is by far one or two generations late and France is one more generation
later than everyone else. They love French so much they would rather die than
order their lunch outside France in any other language than French, even if it
is couscous or pizza, not to mention paella and sauerkraut. Glück auf my
friends and Prozit!

Psycholinguistics, the keystone of the post-pandemic era.
THE FUTURE OF APPLIED PSYCHOLINGUISTICS
https://www.academia.edu/49541311/THE_FUTURE_OF_APPLIED_PSYCHOLINGUISTICS
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/352983175_THE_FUTURE_OF_APPLIED_PSYCHOLINGUISTICS
Psycholinguistics
should become the central key stone of communication (teaching, discussing, and
exchanging ideas and feelings) in tomorrow's world that is already here since
we are in the post-pandemic world indeed. And this communication has to be real,
distance or not, virtual or not, but always real between people who are
assuming their whole personality and psyche. That's the applied dimension we
need to develop. What do two people of different religions, different ethnic
origins, different languages, different cultures will speak of tomorrow in the
street, or if they are students in their classes with their classmates - even
at a distance - and their teachers and professors? That is THE question and we
have two or three years to advance in this perspective, in this path,
significantly.

Life is mortal since it always brings death.
The Planet Is Dying, So Some
Say?

And
they believe it, absolutely. Look at the heat waves, the tornadoes, the
landslides, the forest fires, the volcanoes, the floods, the storms, even the
social upheavals, and the pandemics. The end is close! Apocalyptically
fascinating. In fact, the planet is dying so fast that we might not be able to
save even the rich by sending them to Mars. It is the end. Ding! Dong! It is
the end of the end. Dong! Ding! The beginning of after the end. The new Big
Bang. A Big Rip without any Van Winkle back from the past, or a Big Squeeze,
Big Crunch, Big Smithereens! But definitely the end of it all. Good riddance!

God is sad: he can't solve the human problem
Time Plotting in Kaku’s Lab
https://jacquescoulardeau.medium.com/time-plotting-in-kakus-lab-d529605b5aa4
This is the story of a quest: to find a Theory of Everything. Einstein dedicated his life to seeking this elusive Holy Grail, a single, revolutionary 'god equation' which would tie all the forces in the universe together, yet never found it. Some of the greatest minds in physics took up the search, from Stephen Hawking to Brian Greene. None have yet succeeded.
In The God Equation, renowned theoretical physicist Michio Kaku takes the
reader on a mind-bending ride through the twists and turns of this epic journey:
a mystery that has fascinated him for most of his life. He guides us through
the key debates in modern physics, from Newton's law of gravity via relativity
and quantum mechanics to the latest developments in string theory. It is a tale
of dazzling breakthroughs and crushing dead ends, illuminated by Kaku's
clarity, storytelling flair and infectious enthusiasm.
