Abstract:

Michael D. Coe is probably one of the most important scholars on Maya culture, history, and language. All the questions he asks are justified and pertinent. He does not ask some questions I consider fundamental but that is because he is an anthropologist more than a linguist. But his opinions on all the subjects he considers are very fundamental.
